THE AIM OF THE CAMP is to connect you with an international student with whom you can live, serve, develop and have fun together.
SHARE YOUR HOME WITH A US or UK STUDENT FOR 4 DAYS
During the program you have the chance to have an international student living with you in your house. This is such a rare opportunity to be exposed to someone from another culture and develop deep relationships and understanding of another culture.
SERVE IN AN INTERCULTURAL TEAM FOR 3 DAYS
During these days you will serve in small teams in a service-learning project with your international student. These days are great to put you out of your comfort zone and have a friend alongside with whom you can process and make sense of your experiences.
DEVELOP AND LEARN THROUGH YOUR EXPERIENCES
For many people, this is a big step to take. Both hosting someone in your house and participating in a service-learning project. That is why we give you all the support through workshops and preparations that you need in order to make it a great experience.
DEVELOP A CLOSELY-KNIT COMMUNITY
The program serves as a platform to create a community of students who are dedicated to become fully human, share their love with others and find their place in the society.

PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU ARE PAYING ATTENTION TO
The way we see the world is based on what we pay attention to. And paying attention is a conscious act. So ask the question: Are you paying attention to what you are paying attention to? These few days will encourage and challenge you in your beliefs, ideas and views about yourself and the world around you. Come with an open heart and a learner's mind and let yourself be impacted by the very diverse community.
Name of the Camp: Adopt a Buddy
Description: During the camp international students are going to live in the houses of Hungarian students for 4 days. Every day, there is going to be a service-learning program that you are going to participate in together with your Buddy. Beside the service-learning program, the camp includes preparation workshops, team-buildings, reflection times, developmental seminars and celebrations in small and big groups.
Service-Learning Projects: There are going to be 2 or 3 projects among primary school kids (it is likely that with some sort of disabilities) that you will be a part of. One person only attends one project through the whole camp.
Dates: June 18-21
Location: Budapest
Participants: 12 international students and at least 12 Hungarian students
Program Costs: You are responsible for your and your Buddy's breakfast and dinner at home. The team programs are going to be covered for you.
Before the program starts it is required to participate in a preparation session that is going to help you get ready for hosting international students and serving among kids!
